The Good Old Days

I was looking through my stuffs earlier and I found a photo which I'm very proud of and it reminds me of my secondary school days.. The days when my hair was damn short or long Depending on the time of the year, when my school pants/shorts was sagging to my hips, when discipline was instilled etc etc.. Anyway, here's the pic..
Yeap, I was in Band and this was in 2005.. We were one of the Top 3 Bands in Singapore.. Quite an achievement but nothing new.. =p Oh well, Gold with Honours.. Big Deal!! But that year was tough! Err.. ok.. Maybe we did deserve that accolade.. But my point is performing music in a competition should be discontinued.. It encourages disharmony among all the bands in Singapore.. I'm not kidding.. This is some serious shit.. Rivals are created and animosity between bands during the competition day itself is high.. All because to get into the Top 3.. Top 3 doesn't mean we are the best, after all..

Yesterday was a balanced day.. My virgin performance was a disaster.. Not because I played badly, it's because the ambience was fucked-up, it was a last minute shit and the feeling was like, "WHAT THE FUCK".. But that day was redeemed afterwards when I went for Protege.. It is a rap gig to showcase the up-and-coming rappers.. Nas and Jin of Wills' Invasion performed first.. Sleeq and 128 Ram performed as well.. But they are guest performers only, so, not counted.. The gig was nice but crowd turnout could be better..

After the gig, lepak with the rest.. I made new frens during that time.. Q I din know she was studying in RP!, The other half of Inskription whom I forgot the name Sorry bro!, Chaz Ali, Charles Mike's brother!, Ryo, Jin Wills, Adel etc etc.. All are like damn dope.. Nice to hang out with u all!

On another note, hope u feel positive.. I ain't gonna say my opinion until u ask for it..

All In A Day's Work

Today was the first day of the 3 days of SLA Fiesta.. Geez.. It was bloody tiring man.. But it's for a good cause! Haha.. There were chicks hot ones! interested in joining EMP but how far and how long will that interest stay? Only time will tell..

Besides that, the performances by other IGs were dope.. Hip-Hop IG never fails to impress us.. This time, doing their DanceWorks thang.. Speaking of Hip-Hop IG, today she looks different.. Not the cheery different but the sad-looking different.. Cheer up B! Hopefully, things will go your way! Hmmm.. Hip-Hop IG, Hip-Hop IG... Tak tau apa nak tulis.. Hahaha!

I spent alot of time with FKD and Jidd today.. Jidd looked dopest when we first saw him.. Bugger! Never spare us some! Hahaha! Kiddin' bro.. Then again, 3 of us share the same common interest, so, it's natural for us to click together..

After the whole SLA thingy, me, FKD and Sai decided to lepak at Civic with munchies and ciggs.. Oh, the usual stuffs.. A bit of talk cock here and there and serious shit about ourselves and that's just basically it.. Guys' stuff la ah.. Understandablelestood.. Kudos to both of them for giving me advice.. Dechristianize?

Nope people.. I'm not gonna blog about religion 'cause everyone will get touchy on it.. But the reason I put that up is because it's a long story now, I was walking home back from Mum's and listening to my mp3 when unexpectedly, a metal song, the only metal song I had in the mp3 started playing.. Of course, the chances of a particular song being played is slim.. So, I was taken aback and listening to it reminds me of when I used to listen to metal.. And when I mean metal, it's not your average A7X or whatever bands you perceived to be metal.. This particular song is Cradle of Filth - Nymphetamine. It's symphonic black metal because there's orchestral strings being played as part of their music. Now, dechristianize. It is actually an epic song done by a very "looked-upon" death metal band: Vital Remains. The song is inspired by an actual dechristianisation that happened in France somewhere in the 1800s.. I think.. Both of this songs are some of my faves and I'm gonna show a couple of vids, inviting you to a world of metal.. Listen to it and you will understand.. Hopefully.. 'Cause metal is not widely accepted in our society..

This vid is taken live at Metalmania 2007.. It is the touring band of Vital Remains, which means that the familiar faces are Tony Lazaro and Dave Suzuki the genius..
